I have a random question when it comes to property taxes. If the house burns down, do they reassess the taxes if you decide not to rebuild? Or do I continue to pay the same price as if there was a house there?

Good morning BP. I have been struggling with this 1031 I did in 2021. I kept the property management company that was in place. They ended up getting bought out by current one (CJ/Results). I have not had any luck with these properties. Some things have been acts of God (flood, fires). But right now, it feels like I am solely holding these properties just to pay their maintenance company.
I was used to dealing with one person for property management. This company has one person depending on situation (marketing, maintenance, leasing etc). Every morning I am reluctant to open my email because there is another issue. I would like to hold these properties and see them stableized. I am not sure if changing property management would help. But it sure feels like it might.
Does anyone have experience with above mentioned company? Does anyone have any referrals to any prop management to see if I can get further guidance? Thank you

Hey BP,
due to some very poor communication, I got an insurance policies on 5 duplexes. This is because I was told that my current policy had relapsed. If I can prove to the other company that these properties were, in fact, insured the entire year, can I get a refund from them? This would be a big help. It has not been the best year financially for these properties.
Thanks

Ive had trouble past 2 months too and I chalked it up to weather. Usually no issues renting. Nobody wants to move all of their stuff in 6 inches of snow

@matt much appreciated this is what I was trying to tell him.
@wesley thank man I will have them at least look into that as a hail mary.
Personally, I said do NOT do this. But he seems to think his plan is feasible.

Thank you everyone for the responses. @Lane Kawaoka for 6 duplexes w/ a purchase price of 750k would it make more sense to do the $500 one vs the other?
