Post: Points on a Loan? Yay or Nay

Hi Everyone, Newbie here...

I've always been told "Never pay points on your loan!"

But is there ever a time where it would make sense to pay a point or 2 on a loan as an investor? Is this the market to possibly be paying a point to get a lower rate on investments since rates are going up? Not thinking flips just Buy and Hold.

Thank you for the kind words of wisdom :-)

Hi Emi,

My partner and I live in Goleta and are new to the investing game as well.  However Ive been studying the local area for many years. Im finally going to take the plunge and start investing.  It is true this area SB/Goleta can be very expensive to start, so i recommend looking in SM, Lompoc, Ventura, Oxnard, and possibly Simi Valley or Santa Paula. Maybe we can get together some time and talk. There is a local Investors club. We meet in Goleta and the next one is April. Maybe we can go together? Shoot me an email sometime with your questions maybe i can help. Maybe we can help each other.

Looking for flippers who can buy cash and close in 3-7 days. I am building my inventory list and would love to have you! I have access to MLS and new inventory coming in daily. Excellent upside potential.

Areas include Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties.
