Over the weekend I had a fire in my investment property. (What a way to start a new year!). Anyhow 2 apartments were damaged. I have placed a claim with the insurance company which they are giving me an estimated cost this week. My question is, has anyone hired a third party adjuster to battle with the insurance company on your behalf ? I got a call from a local fire adjustment company who is saying they can help me with the claim and can get me more money to make sure I don't have to cut corners when repairing the damage because of limited funds allocated by the insurance company. Sorry accidentally pressed send.... so like you I am from Long Island.l but because of the high price homes here had to look elsewhere for investments. I liked rochester a lot because of attractive prices and decent cap rates. I did a lot of leg work. Would drive up every Saturday morning at 4 am and canvas the area for the weekend. Did it every weekend for about 4 months before I bought my first property. That was over 10 years ago. I now own a bunch of properties there and have a decent monthly cash flow. Rochester NY is the best city to invest. Been investing here for a long time. Cap rates around 16-22% !!

I invest in upstate NY. I would. W interested depending where it is.
