When someone threatens to sue me I get relieved! No one who threatens to sue ever does. And the ones who do sue just do it, rarely does a lawsuit start with a threat like that.

@Andrew Faukner I am under the impression from a reliable source that you can put “virgin” money into an opportunity fund and not use capital gain income. Can you share some more on this? I am actively looking to invest virgin money in oz

I happen to be SUPER conservative myself as I believe I have been scarred by the gfc. I want to be able to live comfortably in any downturn so I take steps to do so. You have to think of the most valuable asset you have= time. You can’t take your money with you when you die, and if you leave it to your children the chances are high that they will be unequipped to handle it. So, if you have built a decent nest egg then chill and retire and use your TIME to be happy because I assure you (from experience) another Ferrari won’t do it!

When I “made it” I bought myself a 911 turbo, my dream car. Terrible idea! Get rid of that lambo before it costs you more than just money. It sends the WRONG message. You want to appear broke!

There is a big difference between playing offense and playing defense. There are a lot of offensive players on bp who will be destroyed in the event on an economic contraction and it will come. Who knows when it will come but I have seen a lot of people pretending that values will only increase and rents will only increase and leveraging according to this assumption. There is a lot to be said for playing defense, especially at these prices. Save your money and play offense when the time is right!

I was thinking of transferring my primary to an llc also and my attorney said that without a doubt it will be pierced in the event of a lawsuit. So your efforts may be in vain in the end.

Sounds like your “buddy” has assets to attach, I’d sue him and attach absolutely everything he’s got.

I would say Brentwood is more Central Valley than Bay Area. Sell that thing ASAP!
