Cabinets are very challenging even as a pro painter. They are the MOST challenging thing we face in residential painting as a matter of fact. Many pitfalls if you are not careful... like I hope you didn't remove the doors and hinges thinking you can just replace it all with updated hardware. Are the old screw holes going to match up with the new hinges? When they don't (and they won't), are you going to have to repair the original holes? Are all the bends and geometry of your new hinges a PERFECT match with the original hinges? On both sides? Highly unlikely. 

I would just plan on reusing the original hardware. You can clean them up and spray paint them. 

This is only the beginning of a long and tedious journey if you want any type of lasting quality or even just to make them look reasonably good.

Or how about multiple tenants? Stacking farming enterprises is very beneficial all the way around. You could rent to a small dairy farmer and a chicken farmer. The dairy farmer does "rotational grazing" where the cows are confined to small areas or "paddocks" and moved daily to new fresh grass daily. The chickens follow behind the cows and eat all the fly larvae and spread out the cow patties at the same time.  Then you could also rent to a cheesemaker who will turn the cows milk into a high value product.

Renting/leasing is a smart way to go. Allows someone to start a farm without massive cash and risk. It is very popular now..."OPL". Other peoples Land. 

Never mind $1200 for renting hobby horse pasture. They may gladly give you 12K! To improve YOUR land! So you are renting to some land developers (livestock) who are paying you to improve your land essentially.

This is a fantastic idea. Imagine real estate that appreciates in value. Your renters are constantly building up the topsoil by farming in a "land regenerative" way using livestock to massage the soil. 

Take a look at this operation, Ridgedale Farms. This guy paid off his farm in five years. He has his whole business model available as an online course. There are hundreds if not thousands of people enrolled in this coarse.  I bet there is a line of people in the "regenerative ag movement" that would entertain all kinds of arrangements... sell/lease. Could even put in "market garden" and lease it by the "bed row".

I came here because I am a professional contractor looking for people to do business with. Why do I want to read 33 pages of people huddled around like they are at a **** fight with you all gathering all the donations?

Which of you have anointed themselves as the one who decides who is worthy of charity and who is not. Who do you make yourself?

If you want to pinpoint a particular area, the best way is the Haines Directory. It is like a phonebook alphabetized by street with names and phone numbers. Do a hand addressed envelope with a hand signed signature, to a well crafted form letter. Key is to make it look 'important' and personal so it isn't tossed as junk mail. Then be sure to follow up with a friendly phone call.

Years ago you could go to the library and photocopy from the Haines Directory the streets you need. Not sure about today.

Did this for many years to drum up painting and pressure cleaning jobs in Atlanta. Even worked as a lead chaser for a roofer in Texas. We would the weather for hail storms, which are frequent in Texas, then race to the library to get the Haines listings and beat all the other companies to the work with a simple phone call.

Be very carful investing as it is a micro knish market and very risky. Research will show many do not remain in the homes very long as they are unrealistic to live in.

They are glorified trailers at best and not really practical for many reasons.  

You have a point. If it is going to be small and you want to create something more 'substantial' you should do it right with an 'earth ship'. It should feel and function just like a 'proper seagoing vessel', like a boat with a heavy keel. You are nestled into the ground with windows like port lights. You do this with a shot crete method over a good design and you have something FOR REAL.

And chiefly, they may bad mouth the Hippie's and the Yuppie's house but I dare them to talk smack on one of these 'Puppies' right here:

Awesome lake spot. Now all you need is some 'digs'. These are easier and cheaper than tiny homes and would rent easier as well...if you could get approval.

Know what is better than a 'Tiny houses'? 'Earth Integrated' houses. You could have a 'Tiny House Park' for all the people who eventually want to 'upgrade' the whole concept. All those people in tiny house will drool over one of these 'earth ships'. What you get is a much more solid structure with MUCH less work and expense. These are not 'caves' either..No, no. They can be made to feel very open. Even more open than a conventional house because the natural cooling allows for more windows without the expense to cool them down. They are the same temperature inside all year round. Cool in the summer, warm in the winter. I think this could be a better opportunity if you can get the right property.
