Post: Cat Urine in Basement Floor (Dirt) - Help Please!

Hello all...I bought a property with a heavy cat urine smell - removed and disposed of the carpets; sealed in all the wood. The problem I'm having is with the basement. Part of the basement has a dirt floor with limestone or flagstone on top of it. This is where the majority of the smell is coming from. I've tried spraying bleach, then Lysol. Then I tried Clorox urine remover for stains and odors - this was highly reviewed - none of these items seemed to work. Maybe from years of urine under the limestone or from ineffective products but nothing has worked as of yet. I was thinking of getting a few inched of concrete poured over everything. My first question is: does anyone know if the smell would be able to seep through the cement? Second question: I'd love to avoid the cost of poring concrete. Any sure fire methods to get rid of this smell once and for all?

Thanks in advance!

Depending on which part of Bethlehem it's in, you are correct to check the Lehigh and Northampton County search. If the property is in a part of Bethlehem that is Lehigh County, that website will give you the complete taxes, City, County and school. If it isn't a section of Bethlehem that is considered Northampton County, I believe that website will only give you the county tax. You would have to also contact the city and School District to get those taxes.

Hello Richard...I'm from the area and I can't imagine the yearly taxes are only that much. If in fact they are, is be curious to know why if you find out. If you message me the address I'd like to check again for you.

Hello all...I posted this question in the past for Pennsylvania but now am asking help from anyone with sheriff's sale experience in NJ.

Long story short, all I have is the property address and the judgement amount. The attorney's name handling the foreclosure is not given so I don't know who to contact to find the upset price. Even the day of the sale, no upset price is given. Any help would be greatly appreciated (and if I'm not clear enough in this post I'd be happy to elaborate.) Thanks in advance.

Thanks @Timara Marie ...Ok, cool. Yeah, I was wondering what the paid service was for. Is there a difference? I've bought from sheriff's sales a few times. Just learning more and more as I go.

@Jason Kirk...try contacting a realtor from that area. They will know the rental and resale market better than anyone. Good luck!

Just was curious if anyone had any experience with this website...it looks like you have to sign up and pay something, but for what? Looking for any opinions about this. Thanks.

Thanks @Handel Carter...I never actually knew why the term "upset" was used. Since you worked at one of these bigger firms in Pennsylvania, do you have any insight as to how to get the upset prices prior to auction, especially from the firms that are reluctant to or refuse to give them?

Thanks @Chris Martin! I appreciate the lead. I actually posted this question twice to get some answers and Steve ordered his insight on the other thread. He was a great help.

Thanks again!
