Anyone have a mold inspector recommendation in KCMO? We have some moisture buildup in a SFH that we're looking to purchase... hoping to get that tested asap to see how big of an issue we might have.

Thanks in advance!

@Mark Miles - the PA transfer tax is almost completely unavoidable except for a couple circumstances which you described. if you have a specific situation in mind, I would advise that you call your title/escrow company and talk to your contact there. they should be able to tell you if your situation qualifies

Post: Thoughts on Lake Travis (near Austin TX) as a rental market?

Hi all,

I'm considering buying a few rental properties in the Lake Travis (near Austin TX) area. Anyone have any experience running rentals in that area? Price point is relatively high but the school districts are amazing, and I could see families wanting to stay in a rental for an extended period because of the great schools nearby.

I also like the city's proximity to Austin downtown which could help with appreciation as Austin continues to grow and develop. Lake Travis is about 20 miles away, so it's feasible that folks could commute back and forth from their jobs in Austin proper.

Any and all feedback is welcome. Thanks in advance!

@Raj G. - thanks for sharing and sorry you had such a terrible experience. Sounds like many others had the same with ABC Capital.

I'm genuinely curious... if you're based in Chantilly, Virginia, why didn't you drive to Baltimore to try and get this sorted out in person?

@Russell Brazil - do you lease the car via your LLC or personal name? if the answer is LLC, what type of paperwork do you need to bring to the dealership when you set up the lease?

@Greg Downey thanks for the info here. just curious, won't the lender for the primary residence ask to see a rent roll of his current investment properties? what happens then since the commercial property will be listed as generating rent but doesn't show up on personal credit report?
