In case it's helpful for anyone in the future, I think I may have found what is needed:
Step 1: you must apply to REGISTER your foreign LLC with California. This requires a $70 fee and a Certificate of Good Standing from the state your LLC is originally formed

Step 2: once registered, then you pay the state of CA $800 EACH YEAR to maintain your LLC.

Does anyone have the link for registering my foreign LLC with the state of CA? I've looked through their website and can't seem to find what I need.
I am not able to set up an FTB account bc my LLC doesn't have a tax return filed from previous years as it was created just a few months ago.

@Eric Young - can you clarify when someone might need New furnace, air coil and condenser ($3500) vs. entire new HVAC system including ductwork ($6000)?

@Jim S. - i'm not sure of the technical term, but it's the part that will continually keep water into the boiler. I don't believe that's the same as the back flow preventer.
