They also talk about taking additional rent from tenants above the voucher in episode 53- spoiler: it’s illegal and can get you kicked out of the program

Listen to episode 53 of the “straight up Chicago investor” podcast
they go over all things CHA. I’ve listened to it like 10 times.
My main take away - and what I recently did on a listing I had - was to request their “rent burden worksheet”
This document spelled out in plain English what their “maximum rent” is. It’ll tell you right away if they can afford it. Most serious applicants had no problem sending this document to me

Hi Joe, I’m currently trying to do this with the series 65- I personally agree that it’s worth it- especially since we’ll be learning as we go. I’d love to connect and hold eachother accountable.
STCUSA.com seemed to be the highest value study resource in my research

You can become accredited by taking the series 65 - It’s a couple hundred bucks but if you already have an investment it could be worth it. I’m going through the process myself DM me if you want more info

I ran into the same issue- I am currently looking at getting series 65 license under the SEC's new accredited investor definition:
https://www.sec.gov/corpfin/am...
The test is $187 and the registration in Illinois is $150 for a total cost of $337. A lot of people say its not worth it but if you can get in a solid long term investment I think it will pay for its self!
What do you think? Worth it or no?

I’m very confused by the pre-qualification step in the application process- can you pre qualify multiple people? Not sure what they are going for with that either
