@Matthew Paul is right.  Do you have bluish-green stains in your sinks or tub?  That can indicate acidic water which, over time, will corrode the copper.   You can test the PH and even treat the water but you probably should consider replumbing the house with Pex.

Either put a window back in or replace the siding.  It's not that much cost or work to reside that gable.

@Ruth Bayang  No deposits.  You go by your "spelled out draws".  It sounds like you've set it up wisely. Good luck!

It always takes two coats.  One coat looks terrible...even with Benjamin Moore.

@Aaron Xie I agree with @Matt Clark.  What exactly did they do?  From the price amount, it must include materials. That really doesn't sound so expensive to me.  It's hard to get anyone to fix anything for less these days.

@Jeremy Scott "I have learned something about contractors: they always OVERpromise, and they UNDERdeliver."

This type of broad generalization is unfair.

What does he say the extra amount is specifically for?  Unforeseen things do happen but you should have been advised of that beforehand, and asked to 'sign off' on the change.

An attorney friend of mine once told me: "There should never be surprises, if a contract is good".  I think you're right to try to learn from this and have a better contract for next time.

At least he finished, and even though it was not going as he'd hoped financially, he still did a good job. That is commendable!
