Was anyone able to find one that would do a HELOC on an investment property that's held in an LLC?

I've heard good things about Jill from other investors in town. We manage our own right now so I don't have direct experience with her. You may want to reach out and see if she's taking on new properties, even if you're not planning to start until later.

Hi @Anthony Bell, there is the Lansing REI group on Meetup (and Facebook) that meets every 3rd Thursday of the month and the local Rental Property Owners of Mid-Michigan that meets on the 3rd Tuesday of the month (also on Meetup and Facebook).

Welcome, Michael. Congrats on the first deal! If you need any resources as a landlord check out the local RPOA group. Next meeting is next Tuesday evening.

Hi Justin, Lansing can be a block by block space too so if you ever have questions on an area I'd be happy to offer my 2 cents.

@Samson C. @Michael Mudrey  I recently joined up with the local RPOA (rental property owners association) and am trying to help them create/develop resources for new landlords (like me). Are there specific things that either of you would like to see from a group like this? I also attend the group Samson mentions, and the RPOA is meant to be more focused for buy and hold property owners.

@Jackie Runals have you checked your local REI group? Search meetup.com for real estate groups, there are a few over your way that would likely have wholesalers you can talk to.

Agree with nearly everything said here. If schools matter to you, then Lansing schools are not the place to be. And yes, it is very much a block-by-block situation in the city. I'd be happy to give an opinion of location if you have specific areas you're considering, so feel free to message me. It all comes down to what suits you and what you're looking for.
