@Sarah McCluskey as long as there’s room for future growth I think you’ll be fine. Just be sure you included and verified all expenses. It would only take one expense not figured currently to cause loss. I think if your numbers make sense and you can get rents to market value within a year you should be good. Just my $.02.

@Ron Sponseller welcome to real estate investing. Most of us started the same way, it’s a learning process. My suggestion would be to start by learning everything you can, maybe books or a mentor... and of course Bigger Pockets! It’s all about having a good system in place that works for you. I’m in the Akron/Canton area as well and it’s true, there is money to be made here. Good luck on your endeavors & let me know if you have any questions.

@Jeffery Waicak what time do you meet in Canton South on Wednesday’s? I used to go when it was at Rooster’s in Belden then got busy. Thanks

@CJ McKendry Great! I can meet you at the entrance about a 6:45 if you want. You may want to bring something to take notes and business cards if you have them. I’ll see you there.

@CJ McKendry the website is a little difficult to navigate. Here’s a link if you want to check it out. https://www.investinstark.com/Events.aspx?ID=Speed-Networking-Main-Monthly-Meeting-52-2-26-2019

@CJ McKendry the group is having a speed networking event this evening in N Canton. It’s like speed dating except all real estate investors networking together. I went the last few years, many opportunities. Let me know if you want to go & I’ll meet you there introduce you to the group. If not they meet for breakfast every week too.

@CJ McKendry welcome to BiggerPockets! I also invest in the Canton/Massillon area. Have you considered the Stark County Real Estate Investers Association? Great people that have many years of experience investing in real estate and you can find deals too. I would be happy to introduce you to the group if you’d like. Enrico

@Jaysen Medhurst thanks for listing these options, the second option might be the way to go.

@Tarik Turner thank you for the idea, I never thought of that but it sounds like a good option. Do you have any suggestions on a bank that would carry this type of loan?

Hello BP, I purchased a quadplex a few years ago. After rehab and rent raises, the value has increased by $50,000 + I started looking into refinancing when I was laid off at my “job”. I’m wondering if any of you have had success in refi without the ability to show income from a 9-5 job. My property has a decent income after expenses but I worry that banks will want to see personal income to back the loan. I’m ready to invest in my next property but seem to have hit a brick wall. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year BP investors!
