We put up a tree and decorate the main group rooms. People coming to our lake house for Christmas I think like to have a fully decorated home.
I do leave out wrapping paper and tape like @Calvin Baughman does.

Definitely will want to get them cleared out early January, I stayed at a property in Gatlinburg last year that still had a Christmas Tree up in mid February!
