If that's the case, then you as the landlord / property owner have an obligation to maintain safety and get those issues corrected.

Which is exactly why I started this thread. Aesthetics is an added bonus at the end of the day. :)

Right means it's not a safety hazard (like it currently is) as there wouldn't be cables dangling within reach of the 5 year olds running around the property.

Sorry, I live by the "anything worth doing, is worth doing right" mantra. I guess some don't.

Yes, it's an income producing asset, but it's also soon to be my home. Do you allow shoddy work to be done on your home, and just sweep it under the rug?

I might have miscommunicatedd. All of these wires were installed BEFORE I had ownership of the house. My lease has things about satellite installation and all of that, but these were in place before I bought the house, so my lease is a bit useless in this regard.

I am trying to fix the problem, not prevent it at this point.

Being that it's in neighborhood of rentals in East Hartford Connecticut, I'd imagine they've NEVER cut a single cable, and rather just ran a new cable every time a new tenant moved in...

I recently purchased this house. There are cable and phone lines running EVERYWHERE....it's like a spider web, but all over the place...What can I do to fix this? Can I "force" the installer to come out and do it properly/better?

I've got dangling cables going into windows, holes in the wall, and God knows wherever else. I have 4 units, but 6 satellites. It's a real eye sore, especially because I'd imagine half of these cables aren't "live"....

Any suggestions for getting it fixed?

Thanks everyone! And yes @Rick Santasiere lots of "colorful" language left out of this one... :)
