@Jinhee Park Congrats. Way to stick with the deal. A lot of time seemed to have passed in your deal before you were able to close. At some point did you feel like the deal want going to go through and what was your motivation to keep pushing when you were faced with so many road blocks like the roof needing to be updated?

@Joshua Lafferty congrats. I hope to join that club very soon. How long did it take you to buy since joining BP?

Great question @Frank Yaccarino and thanks for that advice @Michael B. Asking a property management company seems like the right path to go in speaking with an expert in that area on rental rates. Michael after this example you listed do you now ask property managers in new areas you are looking to invest, do you do your own research or both?

Thank you @Harjeet Bhatti! The part about learning and teaching others resonates a lot with me. I read a BP post today about a member setting up his real-estate business. He also emphasized the importance of teaching and helping others on their journey while continuing the learning process himself. It is refreshing seeing people on this site being so welcoming and inclusive no matter other members levels of expertise.

Hello BP Community,

Yesterday I attended my first REI in Cincinnati. The speaker was Joe Fairless. He had some great advice to share and provided some interesting insight into residential and commercial real estate. I made a few connections and I am interested to hear from the community.

I know the main goal is to network and learn but If you have attended a REI before what are some specific goals you try to achieve when attending a REI?
