I'd have to agree with biggerpro. Facebook has done a very good job acquiring a young audience with decent incomes (seeing that it all started with university-only access). Now that it has established itself as a higher-education social networking platform, I think people will consider Facebook as more of a sophisticated (for lack of a better word) social network compared to MySpace (and heck, maybe even Open Social). I would be surprised if Facebook would not be an applicable target to find new or veteran investors.

Where are you located in the Seattle area? I thought Seattle was one of the markets that was doing pretty well from a seller's perspective compared to the rest of the country.

Lots of good points here. I have actually dealt with this in the past and it is definitely difficult to overcome.

That is one fine statement you have there all cash. I really could have used that statement a while ago. When I first started out, my family (while supportive) definitely had their doubts about my entrepreneur ventures. I think one of the main reasons for that is because they really did not understand the industry and everything that goes into it.

Just make sure you don't get into the psychological void of doubting yourself only because of other people's opinions about your ventures. You'll be your own worst enemy if you travel down that path, and it can be quite a difficult journey to get back on track.

Coming from personal experience, it is pretty amazing how simply writing down your goals can impact your progress towards achieving them. I never really thought about writing the various steps needed to achieve them though (since I didn't really know all of the steps required to accomplish a desired goal), but I'll have to put some more thought into that.

Good call REI,

Obviously you shouldn't promote a guarantee you can not fulfill (or are against any laws). That goes with anything you can't fulfill in general. Not only will that give you problems down the road with clients, but it will also give you a bad reputation. I was just throwing out some examples that would help in making an ad more specific.

To msedwick,

You'll probably want to start a new topic for your question, seeing that it has no relevance to picking out a domain name. Actually before you post, check out some of the other topics to see what kind of info you can generate on foreclosures. You can use the Search feature at the top of the page, which should save you some good time.

I know a lot of people talk about them from what I have seen in the forums...

Honestly, I would recommend you jump into some bird dogging and get yourself a local mentor. Not only will it give you great experience in regards to what to look for in properties, but chances are people in your area would be more than willing to mentor you. It may sound odd, but it is really not that uncommon. See, if someone teaches you the ropes about how to find great investments, they can use you (and your newly-acquired skills) to help them find great properties to invest it. Then you get a cut of the profit (a.k.a 'finders fee') and they get a great investment: it's a win-win situation.

Definitely worth thinking about...
