@Lori Thedorff From what I have been able to learn from title companies, a couple of  RE attorneys and several realtors: it is not illegal to wholesale in LA. One can do both -  a double close or an assignment. It is just the industry does not like it - less $ in their pockets. My advice is go to the BP meetup that is held in Lafayette, it is a rather large group from what I am told, and talk to a RE attorney. All the best in your chosen endeavor.

Just do some browsing through the BP forums, search for NO

and you will learn, it is rather warm market, quite competitive

to be sure.

I am sure there are BP meetups in NO, plus there are REIA group

meetings as well. Start networking with them. Go into the network tab

@ top of BP page and obtain colleagues in your area there.

Right off the bat let me say I know nothing about Denver. That said - I just read an article out of Builder Magazine Five Hottest Cities For Housing Growth for the next five tears. Be aware, this is for new construction - but it all causes ripples. As are being attested to by previous threads. The article stated that Denver is #2 behind Austin, TX for growth. This is based on 3 factors - population, employment, and land. So I do believe you and your REI comrades are sitting on a gold mine if you get out there and hustle. Best of luck you are at a choice location at the right time.
