Welcome!! I'm new to the RE investing world also. I'm in Ladson, which is close to Charleston.
Depending on the condition of the condo. Doesnt sound like a bad deal if you get it for 35k. If the comps average 42-42k but highest is 67k then when you sell try to aim for 50k with some high end appliances.

Nice home. Being this house was purchased just a little over a year ago, the owner may not be really interested in selling. To answer your question though, I would check you local property tax map office to find the owner's name and address. Or you can try simplying mailing a letter to the address of the house. The owner may check the box every so often.

Looks nice. Alot of times the best way is to do a complete gut-out to the studs. You'll be putting alot of money into that building. Watch out for the GC, make sure he does not load you with change orders. I'm going to keep watching this tread. I love complete rehabs.

Best thing to do is call around. Most charge a flat fee plus dump fee. Then some do by weight. Depending on weight expect 700-1200. Try recycling stuff if you can, it saves alot!!

Welcome!!
Congrats with the degree in Architecture. I would get lots of connections with the skills you have. If you have become a registered Architect to stamp drawings, I would try to pursue that through advertising on your own. With the right program such as Autodesk Revit, you can make 2k+ for a days work. Trust me it can happen, I do it on the side all the time. Im a project manager but do drawings on the side for clients who want new houses or additions.
There is lots of info on this site. You just have to pick which area of real estate you are interested in.
College is a very good experience. Make sure you learn what you can out of it. It will be helpful in the future. Make sure to take some business courses if you plan to do real estate. In college I learned alot and some things will help you in the future and alot won't. Plus it good to have if you need to rely of something when all else fails.
Nice Deal!! 6x 30yds dumpsters geez must've been alot of trash. Love the outcome though. Do you have any before pictures?

I've been researching the same topic. I'm a rookie and looking to make the first one this summer.
