Post: Replacing interior doors

Hi BP community, I’m hoping someone might have experience with this. I found some great used 6 panel doors to replace the very worn looking hollow doors in my house hack. The problem-as you could imagine-is that notches don’t line up. Would you: 1. Recut the hinge notches on the door 2. Recut the notches on the frame 3. Shave off a small amount on the top of the door so that everything lines up. I’m concerned also that the new screw holes will weaken the frame or door because they’re so close to the old holes. Thanks for any suggestions. I thought by saving a little bit it would be worth it to get used doors...now I’m not so sure.

Hi BPers, I’m looking for a good CPA-obviously well versed in real estate related tax concerns. Thanks! Preferably a local to the Denver area, but I would consider a remote option as well.

I would love a ticket too if anyone ends up not being able to go!

Thanks for all the ideas and suggestions. I’m checking it for Asbestos & then I’ll go from there.

Does anyone in the Denver area have a good recommendation for someone I can hire that would scrape my popcorn ceilings? Thanks BP community!

@Christopher Colburn.  I am in Colorado too.  I would love to know how this turns out for you.  Would be open to pursuing a similar path down the road.

@Matt M., it's actually a new property, so not sure how long it's been sitting like that.  The owner lived there for a few years, so definitely worth considering how long it's been like that.

@Sam Shueh it's a townhome and from what I could see, it looked to be in decent shape.  The interior was the main concern & my thought was that unless it has been sitting for a while and liquid or mice have done significant damage, hopefully taking out carpet, hosing everything down in bleach and some paint will fix most everything.

@Account Closed Thanks for the suggestion.  I'll check them out if this all goes through.
