@Wayde C Hall Good call on "training your tenants"! I remember listening to that on a podcast, but didn't remember it until you jogged my memory!

Sounds like there is a unanimous vote that you shouldn't worry about your age as a landlord! Thanks for the advice guys.

@Adeva Edobor I suppose, but likely I will be living in the same building. I feel like in that scenario I might as well be up front about being the owner.

@JD Gunter I like this way of looking at it. As long as I crunch the numbers properly, and the math checks out, the market is not really going to have a big enough impact to change that. It may rise or drop, but if it is a good deal, it will still be a good deal. Thanks for the post!

@Toby Thompson I like the way you look at this. As long as I remain professional, why would my age matter?

I am curious, how does one go about getting a lease for tenants? And would you do anything different in the lease, or just remain professional about every aspect of it when something comes up?

Thanks for reaching out! I will happily take you up on "young landlording" questions.

@Mike Bean I like the idea of being honest with tenants. Letting them know that I am the owner and remaining professional about it. I really like the way you put this. I have always been relatively good at presentations in school, because I was always prepared, so why would this be different?

I have just finished Scott Trench's "Set for Life", and already have Brandon Turner's "The Book on Rental Property Investing". Should be a great source of information. Thanks for reminding me!

@Rob Jafek this is excellent information! I wondered how the actual charts looked. The markets that I am looking at here weren't even hit by the 08-09 recession that much, so I think locally things like the yield curve don't effect near as much. Thanks for explaining all of this! Very helpful.

@Jake Walroth If only I could do so.. The university I am going to has ridiculous housing. Like, good luck finding something for less than $400k kind of ridiculous. I am currently looking like 30 minutes outside of the university.

@Pat L. Awesome! That is really good for her. I don't see myself having issues evicting / managing tenants, but it is nice to know there are other people my age doing it. Most of the time, I hear people that "got started early" and they were like 22 or 23.

@Melissa Nash Thanks for the encouragement! Podcasts on spotify are definitely more my cup of tea, and I have already listened to a good 20+ podcasts by biggerpockets. Might diversify into other podcasts soon though.
