Hey Derek, check out the tax records for this property, it will tell where the bill gets mailed to. I would send her an absentee owner letter stating you invest in the area and are interested in buying her property.

My first thought was he is hiding something and after reading other replies here I still feel that way. If you didn't ask and he didn't give any info on it than thats one thing, but you asked and he wasn't honest. I agree with making sure you check the one your interested in buying thoroughly before buying. Also agree that you should try to buy both buildings if he is interested.
