Also don't forget Gene Trowbridge's 'It's A Whole New Business' to do a deep dive on the legal side. It's not the most fun to read, but it'll save you the most jail time! ;)

For the soup to nuts though, I also recommend Joe Fairless' big red book.

Rod Khleif and Jake/Gino's books are also great walkthroughs.

 @Chris Collins I have read Gene's book and you're right a little dry but worth the freedom from jail time lol

@Jason Thompson

I would recommend Anthony Vicino's book Passive Investing Made Simple.

I also agree Joe Fairless's book is terrific

Gino

 @Gino Barbaro Great recommendation Gino!

Jason - An "oldie but goodie" in multifamily is "MultiFamily Millions" by Dave Lindahl. I agree that Joe's book is excellent, but if you're looking for another read I would check out Multifamily Millions.

@Greg Kasmer Thanks Greg I just put it in my amazon cart! Have a great day!

That depends on what you are looking for, but my favorite is raising capital for real estate because not only does it teach you about the inns and outs of private capital, but also gives a good overview of the different types of syndication structures.

 @Brett Deas Thanks for the post Brett.

I appreciate Joe Fairless’s book! The layout is strong and he provides good action steps to take as you launch your business. I highly recommend.

 I have read Joe's book and agree it is a great one! Are you an LP or GP Castenzio?

Post: Underwriter needed for syndication deals

I am looking for someone to underwrite some deals for me and is familiar with SDA Michael Blank's underwriting tool

Hello everyone. I hope you all had a great weekend. I wanted to start a thread on what is everyone's favourite book on syndication.

Can anyone recommend a good VA for basic underwriting?

Quote from @Andrew Hogan:

Hey bud, I'd recommend searching on LinkedIn for some small fish in a really big pond at some of the larger companies.

Someone who's had lots of reps already but are hungry and eager to make something grow.

That's where BAM scored several early employees that have been crucial to the team's success and are now an integral part of the executive team.

Specifically for compensation, as you know it's pretty common for underwriters to end up getting a piece of the acquisition fee if the deal comes to fruition. You just need to have someone else on defense to ensure they aren't stretching numbers to get a commission :)

Good luck!

 @Andrew Hogan How much of a piece of the acquisition fee if the deal comes to fruition would be standard Andrew?
