@Seth Schrott Thanks man appreciate it. Looked over your profile. I am a huge smallmouth bass fisherman. Would be awesome to hit the river and talk some REI.

@Matt Brooks I would definitely keep the gas furnace. If you were to sell the house down the road, having electric heat could dissuade some buyers from buying the house. I am in PA and electric heating during the winter months is, more often than not, more expensive than gas or oil. Additionally, as someone who was raised by an HVAC technician, newer gas furnaces are way more efficient. With that said, I know your inquiry was focused on safety and if installed properly, you do not need to worry about it.

Post: Buying a house with original septic system to flip

@Nelson Del Castillo Definitely get estimates on replacing the WHOLE septic system. In my experience they are extremely expensive. In my state, they require a permit (additional costs), and estimates can range from $2,000 to $20,000 depending if the system is anaerobic or aerobic! If the work fits in your budget then it may be worth it. I personally avoid septic systems. I would compare comps with other properties in the neighborhood with septic systems if possible, due to increased risk of problems with one, I would imagine the house is worth less when compared to city water & sewer. This depends on your local market of course.

@Edwin Cruz Hey Edwin, I am pretty new to biggerpockets but I do know if you go to the network tab at the top of the page and click hard money lenders, you can search for them in your area. Hope this helps.
