Hi JC,
Sorry I was busy with other stuff and just got back on BiggerPockets. Were you able to get the required help from Roofstock sales team? Do let me know if you need any help. FYI, I too am planning to buy my first SFR home through Roofstock sometime next week.
Thanks,
Johnson

Hi JC,
If you are comfortable with investing online, I can suggest you https://www.roofstock.com/. This is a fintech startup dealing with single family rental homes investment. Please check this out. They have lots of homes in the $40K - $80K range.
Disclaimer: I work for Roofstock as a software engineer. Please do your due diligence before deciding to invest.
Thanks,
Johnson

Hi Monique,
Kicking myself for not having read this review earlier. I just signed up with Fortune Builders for a JumpStart course, since I did not invest in their mastery course. I paid 10000$ + 997$ for them to open an LLC for me. All these with having zero experience in real estate investing. I paid the fees through Credit Card on 2/27/2018. The strange thing is that I could not find any negative reviews prior to today. Do you know whom I should write to to get the refund? I sent an email to the support team. Will call their Toll free number as well tomorrow.
Cheers,
Johnson

Hey Chad,
Thanks for the offer. Would love to connect with you. Right now I am in the middle of trying to cancel my subscription to the expensive Real Estate Investing course and get a refund.
Let me contact you in a couple of days.
Thanks,
Johnson

@Logan Allec, thanks for that quick welcome and suggestion. After googling about house hacking a bit, I think that is a great idea. Shows how much knowledge I have so far :)
The challenge would be to get affordable units in the area I live - Fremont, CA
Thanks again

Hello everyone, my name is Johnson. I am a relative newcomer into real estate investing. Have not even owned a home. Started getting curious about Real estate investing since joining my new job about a year and a half ago. The current company I work for is a fintech startup into single family rental homes investing.
When I joined this firm, I had practically zero knowledge about real estate investing and the various terms used, for e.g. IRR etc :)
The past few months I have had a tug in my heart to try my hand at real estate investing, primarily with the following two goals:
1. Financial freedom
2. More free time and resources to serve other people.
I came across Biggerpockets just a week ago while listening to another financial podcast. Unfortunately, I already paid some money to a real estate coaching company for being trained in the various aspects of Real estate investing such as Flipping, wholesaling etc. Kicking myself in the foot for not reading through some of the articles on Biggerpockets before spending the money on the Jump Start course.
My goal is to get into real estate investing, but maybe start low key such as with passive investing.
Hope I can contribute positively to this group
