@Jeffrey Lester

Major in something that you're passionate about so you can learn how to think better. score a great GPA, and become world class in the subject. If you're studying XYZ because you think the market will be strong for that major, you might find yourself out competed by the people who are passionate about the subject. By posting on BP, developing a BP network, and reading real estate books, you will do fine in RE, no matter the major.

Tech is drastically changing the way we do things, but one thing tech won't be able to replace is human interaction and understanding (in the near future), which I would say is the most important aspect of real estate investing.

I ended up majoring in Political science, while taking a few business classes. Being able to see things from different angle helps you to find unseen opportunities. More on that subject can be found here. Also, you might want to read this book.

In my experience in HR, we look more for cognitive ability & passion, and less about the major.

Best of luck in school!

@Mohit Madaan Has he called his local credit union banker? They might be able to give him  a definitive answer.

@Joshua Dorkin @Brandon Turner

 The new forums are awesome, now like every other free loading-high-maintenance unappreciative-internet-troll, I have a first world country problem.

Would it be possible to send a colleague request without having to leave the forum page you're currently viewing?

Love always,

Jordan

HI @Landon Dolezal congrats on the internship. I would definitely listen to the podcasts and read the article. You can find plenty of good land lording articles and podcasts at this website.

HI @Brian Jones

Have you check your local REI group or bigger pockets meet up group? Funding for these deals is as much relationship based as it is credit worthiness. If you have good track record on making such deals happen, you should be able to find funding.

Hi @Chip Chronister

QQ - Do you have a 401k and a self directed IRA? Also, does the IRA make up a majority of your savings?

@Armando Pena

Understood. I would say that what you're looking for would be better served if you met up at your local REI group and see if you can be mentored because you'll receive real time feedback that's relevant to your market niche, while building relationships that will lead to opportunities.

HI Craig,

It looks good to me.  The plan is an evolving document, once you start your business you will be able to validate your assumption or figure out you need to revise certain items.

Also, flipping can be seen more as a full time job, so you might want to figure out how you can turn the fruits of the flip into holds that gradually create free time.

A good plan violently executed now is better than a perfect plan executed next week.

That would be great. I'm going to bump this to see if the BPers have any suggestions.

Looks like you can learn all of that for free at BP. Sort of looks like a pitch seminar.
