Post: Offering Seller Financing

An elderly friend of mine wants to stay in his multi, but can use extra cash each month. I ran some numbers and I can just barely break even on cash flow keeping him in it. I figure I could offer him to do basically a long term seller financing so he’d have some monthly income, continue to live in his home, and then pass the note along to his daughter in time as a relatively stress free inheritance. At face value this seems like a win-win-win to me, but I want to make sure it’s a) even legal/reasonable and b) if I’m overlooking a crucial roadblock that stops more people from doing this sort of thing. Does anyone have experience in this sort of thing? If so, how do I even go about it (if he accepts the offer)?

Hey everyone!

My wife and I are newbies looking to get involved with our local scene. Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend this meetup, but I wanted to start saying hello and making the local connections and seeing what needs I can help fill to earn some advice, guidance, partnership, or just some good smiles and friends :) Or, since it's Tacoma, if anyone wants some advice on brewing :)

I'm a Tacoma local homeowner, active duty military, and building my literacy looking to get into the buy and hold scene. Feel free to drop me a line.

Sorry, first time using the generator here and I don't see how to retract it after accidentally posting right away...

South Sound, WA State, Active Duty newbie investor. This is absolutely a shot in the dark, but I'm taking @BrandonTurner 's advice of offering "something". If anyone is interested in homebrewing, cidery, home winemaking, or charcuterie (curing their own prosciutto, pancetta, salami, or making pastrami/bacon), then I can offer regular coaching in exchange for some good sounding board guidance on my REI. I know it's silly, but leveraging what I've got, lol. I've been homecuring and brewing for over a decade and can easily get anyone started in the basic to intermediate knowledge needed to get started making their own boards. As far as REI goes, I'm completely new at this, so I just want a third party to act as a sounding board to help me validate/evaluate offerings from realtors/lenders/etc. I don't suppose anyone is interested?
