It really depends on their situation. I just rented to a couple who moved across the country for a job. We talked over video call and I walked them through with a video tour. I just verified her employment here and did the background and credit check. I required a non-refundable deposit to secure the home and rolled it over to the contract deposit once they signed the lease. Like I said though, each situation is different.

I'm Katey and I just joined in the last few weeks. We just submitted an offer on our first property. A house hack we are tackling with our family. It seems almost like a hack/BRRRR since we are acquiring a rented unit with reliable tenant, a 5 bedroom house we will live in, and additional 1200 sq ft we plan on converting to a 2bd apartment and all will have their own garage.

Expect to see me on here with many questions over the next year!!

Hi All!

We have put an offer in on a 2 home lot with an additional storage loft that can be converted. Our plan is to house hack, full family style! The second home is rented with reliable tenant.

We have a full bath, 2 half baths and a shower that need to be updated or remodeled. Anyone know of a contractor they would recommend that services this area? We could do a lot of it ourselves but the plumbing needs to be moved around a little in one of the bathrooms.
