@Luke Rorech Thanks for the info! We are definitely looking to invest by April if we find the right deal. It’s highly competitive, but the deals are still there from what I see!

@Dan Maciejewski Awesome! Thanks for reaching out. We’re open to the beach areas around Tampa. I know St. Pete can be very strict for STRs. At least that’s what I’ve read. I’d love to chat with you more!

@Brian Oney thanks! If you don’t mind me asking, how is your rental doing in that area? Just wondering if it’s a location we should consider as well

Newbie here-My husband and I are seeking out properties in the Sarasota/Siesta Key area. I am aware of the regulations in Sarasota county, which is why we’re interested in the barrier islands or downtown only. We’re also open to other areas, such as Tampa. Any realtors on here that specialize in STRs ? We would Airbnb it from out of state for now. We’re in Mass and We’re new to investing, but it’s a dream of ours to do it and now just happens to be the right time in our life to take the plunge. I would so Appreciate any advice from those who have had success in STRs or any realtors in the area. Thanks so much!

@Elaine Fawcett Thank You for your response! I do agree with just getting my license and then learning. I was just wondering if anyone in the Boston area had a good/bad experience with one RE school over the other. It was out of curiosity if anything. Part time real estate is my only option as of now, because I do have a FT job (it is work from home, though). Therefore, I would have a little more freedom working RE part time. I feel as though quitting a FT job to go straight into real estate FT would be too much of a risk at first. I would rather have the option to quit my job based on my success in RE, if that makes sense. MLS access is nice to have, but I agree most "deals" may not be on there at all. Having my RE license would definitely be more for networking :)

Hi @Dan K. Yes, completely agree. You get what you pay for definitely. I'm interested in getting my license and working in it part time, as I have a full time job. If things really went well, then I would consider being a realtor FT. We are also interested in investing, so the MLS access as a realtor is helpful.
