Post: How to turn a house hack into rental

What websites do you use to market your househack?

What websites do you use to market your househacks? I am curious because I am in the middle of doing a househack right now.

Is Roomster a good website/app to use to find renters? I am curious to see if it is worth it to purchase a membership. On roommates.com, I cannot read the messages I receive, but I am able to message the person and provide my email so that they can email me. This makes it so that I do not have to pay for roommates.com. Trulia and facebook marketplace are also great resources to use. My problem with facebook marketplace is that it's hard to advertise a property as a rent by the room. Most people do not read the description and assume that they can rent the entire 5 bedroom house for $600. Any tips or advice on any of these platforms please? :)

@Nathan Gesner wow nathan, thank you for the thorough post!

I listed my place on facebook marketplace and craiglist. Roomster has a paid version. Does anyone have experience using Roomster to find roommates? Also, does anyone recommend any other apps/websites to list rooms for rent?

Is Legacy Education with Rich Dad Poor Dad legit? I think the training is legitimate. The people seem to really know what they are talking about and they talk about some really advanced real estate investing techniques. I'm just afraid I will not have enough knowledge from their 3 day course to do a deal.

Did you just buy the house now?

Thank you everyone for your advice :)

@Travis Hatch Congrats on the deal! I am looking into house hacking myself for my first property. I have a couple of questions on house hacking if you do not mind answering them. Was it hard for you to find renters? How did you advertise? How do you figure out what price you should charge for rent? Lastly, what amenities did you include?

I am planning to buy a 5 bed 3.5 ba house as a primary residence and I plan to rent out the other rooms. What strategies can I use to advertise individual rooms? What amenities should be included with renting out the room? How do I figure out how much I can charge for each room?
