Hi @Dustin James!
Welcome to BP. I know there are so many markets to choose from, but I highly recommend Indianapolis, IN! My fiancé and I personally manage 21+ rentals (mostly STRs) in Indy, and it is a great place to invest. Indianapolis is known for its lower barrier to entry, and the growing markets in and around the city! Let me know if you want to chat more about the market, I would love to connect! :)
In a general sense, make sure the market you're looking in fits your criteria/needs! Market research is imperative to making sure you find the right investment. Connect with local professionals to make sure that market is right for you!
Wishing you the best of luck! Please let me know if you would like to connect about the Indy market.

I agree with @Nicole Heasley Beitenman!
If you're going to do that, you will really have to stay on top of both platforms. It could get tricky if your market/realtor charges for listing and/or taking applications for it as well. It's not impossible, but it seems like it would be a lot to handle with it being live and inquired about on both sites.

I do it in Indianapolis, but it is important to know what to look for! Like what others said, you can copy what the competitors are doing in the area, but sometimes it's good to let a pro do it! I would make sure you look for someone that has experience, and knows how to set your STR apart. I would also make sure that you have a realistic budget. It helps to really lean into the amenities and/or decor of that area to shape the design of your STR! You want to make it where your STR is the one getting clicked on because of the design, or the amenities that make you stand out. Hope this helps!

In my opinion, yes! It always comes down to the market that you're looking to invest in, but if you have the systems/teams in place and you set your STR apart, you will do great!
