Welcome to the area Brent! I'm in Fayetteville also. I have one recently aquired SFH rental here (Husband and I are going to it today to do a bunch of work on it), and we have a SFH rental in MN. What other states are your rentals in?

Thank you for that info @Adam Schneider I will contact Becky.

@Andrew K. This is also our second time at Bragg, but we plan to stay in the area for a while. We bought near Cliffdale and Reilly Rd. Not my first choice of areas, but we wanted to get the ball rolling as we've been actively looking since November. This was the 6th house we put a cash offer on. We were used to being outbid, and didn't really expect to get this one. One of the houses we offered on had 18 offers in 4 days! However, now that we've got our first local property, I want to step back and make sure future offers are smart and make the best out of the numbers.

Hi Collin, thanks for your response! You know, I've been meaning to see if there is a local REIA. I figured so, since this area seems to be teeming with investors, lol. I'll DM you for more info.

I don't have any advice for you Cedric, but I am a buy and hold investor in Fayetteville NC. It's a hot market here with investors!

Hi BP community! My husband and I started out with one SFH rental in 2008. My husband joined the military, we had to move, and our house value had plummeted. So we turned it into a rental property. I managed it myself and did a horrible job for the first few years! I made a lot of mistakes and learned many tough lessons. Just yesterday we closed on our first SFH locally here in Fayetteville North Carolina. We paid cash, plan to fix it up, rent it out, and possibly refinance to put our money into more SFH purchases or other investments. My father is my original inspiration for buying rental property. He owns 6 SFHs free and clear in the twin cities of MN, and he does mentor and help me a lot. However, I would like to approach this with much more of a business mindset than as a one-man-shop, as my father basically does everything himself with his rentals. I don't want to get caught in that mind trap of feeling like I need to do everything myself.
I've been binge listening to past episodes of the BP podcast after discovering it last week.
Besides managing our rentals, I care for our three young kids. I love to do anything active and outdoors. Our dream is to open a gym, and I envision that our real estate investing will provide the income and freedom to make that happen.  I would love to meet with any local BP members and share ideas and information. And of course I look forward to communicating with all BP members through the forum :)

I'd love to be a part of this. I just joined BP today. My husband and I own and manage two single family rentals and are looking to grow that business.
