I definitely cant get the “...” tagging to work. Joe did you just reference an anonymously updated (three days ago) wiki page as evidence? I fully understand that a large animal biting as hard as it can has potential to do more damage than a tiny 3lb animal doing its worst. But with the evidence previously provided (from a legitimate decade + long research study, with peer reviewed methods/ controls, in an academic journal, by scientists, with PhD’s and decades of respected work, cited as experts worldwide..) why aren’t we banning Golden retrievers too? Higher incidents of biting even though that other study, (done in same fashion as described above) proved that if breeds aren’t perceived as “dangerous” they are less likely to even be reported when the DO bite humans.. do we really like the Benji movies that much? I get it, kid gets chomped by a shitzu, probably ok, maybe lost an eye, maybe got a stitch or two, maybe peed a little in his spidy undies. Kid gets chomped by a large dog (like a golden), could be much worse. There is still zero evidence to suggest that bull breeds are more prone to violence than any other breed. I’ve actually provided evidence to say that those fuzzy little devils the Jack Russel are more prone to violence.. It’s like the difference in hit by a train vs hit by a car... doesn’t make the train prone to violence. Just the physics of F=ma acting on the kid or your car.

Sorry Thomas, missed your question there! I didn’t actually know there was a Saskatchewan pitbull rescue group? I do, however, sponsor 2 kennels in Saskatoon & 2 more in small towns across the province annually for the SPCA / Humane Society. ... Does that mean the scientific studies peer reviewed and published by academic journals are wrong?

I’m dying to know Thomas, what is it that makes you believe these 4 folks with Doctorate degrees or PhD’s in Vet Med who are multi published and referenced dozens of times throughout various academic journals (those are those ones held to scientific standards a fair amount more strict than hearsay online) are completely incorrect... Have a read through this on Jstor sometime: Journal of Veterinary Behavior: Clinical Applications and Research Volume 3, Issue 3, May–June 2008, Pages 134-140

No difference statistically (since you like stats!) in treatment or location of bites from breed perceived as dangerous vs those legislators have identified as dangerous? That’s odd, I wouldn’t expected scientific studies to prove pit bull bites were way worse and more frequently found in fatal target areas like the neck or inner groin? Thomas, be careful, falls can be dangerous! Has there been a peer reviewed academic study showing pit bull breeds are more dangerous? If so, why can’t I find it? Here’s one from the Journal of American Veterinarian Medical Assc (that’s an academic journal, found in university libraries as well as online through PubMed or other databases) that says irresponsible owners were the primary cause of dog bites over a decade long period: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24299544 Put on a helmet if you’re prone to falling. Elbow pads too! Science is science, please prove me wrong with a peer reviewed study and I’ll gladly read it start to finish.

Thomas, should we ban Jack Russel Terriers? Over two decades of research here in Canada, USA, & AUS concludes they’re actually the most likely breed to bite humans... I wonder if veterinarians would have an interest in accurate publishing though? https://avsab.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Breed-Specific_Legislation-download-_8-18-14.pdf

Please provide these statistics. I’ve got an excellent science background (although physics was my primary focus, not biology) and would enjoy reading all about it. You’ve stated a fact, so it has been proven, and I’ve clearly not been privileged enough to see it yet. Here’s a Master’s Thesis to read while I try to contain my emotions... https://ir.library.oregonstate.edu/downloads/f4752j75v

Hi Anne, interesting comment, wondering if you might point to some evidence of your statements? Surely there’s abundant enough evidence to make these statements as if they are common fact, right? Some good info both positive AND negative here. https://americanpitbullfoundation.com/pit-bull-myths-debunked/

Currently testing effectiveness of google calendar with the on site guy set as editing access. Notifies both phones when either of us add an event. Alerts set ___ mins prior to start time. So far so good
