I am a licensed real estate professional that has owned, designed, and renovated 16 homes in Tampa in the last 3 years. Im a tampa native as well. I have worked with the City of Tampa planning and building dept to get plans approved and permits expedited and ran the construction site myself. I own a quadplex and a SFR in midtown that I did with the BRRRR process and now Airbnb. Currently working on a second personal AirBnb. There are many restrictions and differences between Tampa and St Pete.

@Joey Brantley

400K should get you 60-80k in gross STR revenue. You will also be happy with the #1 appreciation in the country. Why Tampa will be 2022's Hottest Market

Hi @Dillon Cook, DM me and I will refer you to our local CPA who handles out real estate business. He actually specializes in real estate and understands it from an investor perspective. He is not a guy that just does taxes passively, he actually runs projections in Q3 so you can know your upcoming tax liabilities and he can then can recommend way to lower that tax bill before the 31st.

Hi @Justin Lopez,

We use a solid asset protection attorney here in South Tampa that is highly reviewed and covers nearly all aspects of real estate.  DM for info.

Hi Chris,

I grew up in Treasure Island (Pinellas County) and have resided in South Tampa for years. I'm also a fellow full time investor/licensed real estate professional who has done the BRRRR strategy, fix and flips etc. I currently have both STRs and LTRs.

I would recommend investing in Ybor, Seminole / Riverside Heights, Midtown or South Tampa.

I have personally owned, designed, renovated and re-sold 16 homes in Tampa in the last 3 years. I have worked with the City of Tampa planning and building dept to get plans approved and permits expedited and ran the construction site myself.

Happy to connect if you have any questions about Tampa.

I would also entertain VM Ybor and that area as it pushes east.  Closer to downtown, less than 10 mins away to Midtown, Sparkman Wharf, Bucs & Lightning stadiums... this is where your short term rental guests are going to want to visit.

Closer to Busch Gardens is on the up and up and deals can be found but be aware that the county line is around there and as soon as you leave Tampa proper and into Hillsborough county you have a different sent of governing short term laws.

@Dennis Santa Paula We put our personal properties in land trusts.  It does not violate the due on sale clause and it gives us anonymity.

@Axel Ragnarsson

I helped 6 investors in Tampa buy a STR this year in the 400k -600k range. Reach out if you have any questions. I own 2 myself.
