I love the idea of a curved shower curtain rod for my own home but not so much for my rentals. I prefer going with a cheaper spring loaded one in my smaller rental. If it is a higher end rental like Gabriel said then you may want to go with something nicer to attract the tenants to the higher rent. I just wouldn't be to happy if they broke it and I had paid that much more for it.

I don't see that as a crazy thought at all. I have learned a lot of valuable information throughout my life by giving free or cheap labor just to learn. You would be surprised how many people would love to teach you and show you everything they know. I walked onto a local job site where a contractor was building a home and asked if I could help for free to learn some basics. He was all for it.

Sounds like a bad situation. If the landlord was smart they would switch over to electric like you stated. Would be less of a headache in the long run in my opinion.

It's always interesting to hear different stories about tenants. Sounds like your doing the right thing here. They will just continue to cause problems and may even look for lawsuits. Good luck with this and let us know how it goes!

Welcome!
I have rented for many years while owning 3 rentals. Reasons being that I was closer to my job and got transferred a lot and that 2 of my rentals are in a college town and I get double the rent that I was paying to live at the time. It all depends on your situation and what works best for you.

My advice would be to contact your local city planning department and have them look at your parcel. They will be able to tell you what steps you would need to take to achieve what you are trying to do If it is possible.
Good luck.
