Hi BP family - I am looking at a deal in Normal, IL, so I wanted to see if anyone's had an experience with evictions and if it's a landlord friendly city.

@Femi Ibrahim this must be extremely painful and I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. However, congratulations on the opportunity to learn a big life/real estate lesson except that it came with a huge price tag. Thank you for educating our community and best of luck in your future endeavors!

Hello, I'm not very familiar with the Birmingham, Al market but I'm looking at a listing just a couple of blocks West of Graymont subdivision in Birmingham. Is there anyone that could tell me a thing or two I need to know about the location before I commit to this deal? Thank you!!

Yes I heard metal roof can last a very long period of use. Unfortunately, this one has trees very close to it. I’m not even too bugged about the roof like the wooden foundation. It just sounds weird. Thanks a lot for your contribution and thoughts!!

Thanks MB. I’m not particularly sure as of now if it’s pier and beam or otherwise. But I doubt it is because it’s a five unit brick building and I can’t imagine that sitting on a pier and beam type of foundation. I’ll definitely have an inspector look closely if I’m moving forward with it.

I have this 5-plex I’m looking at that’s built in 1968, has a wooden foundation and metal roof. This is practically the first time I’ll be coming by such. Does anyone know some merits and demerits to these?

To support your position; reading The Millionaire Next Door sums it up. As humans we just don’t value the same thing across the board. Some folks have massive net worths but you can’t really tell from the outlook of things like what car they drive e.t.c
