Moderators, please ban me from this site because Mo said so.  LOL  Apparently you cannot have an opinion on this site.

Believe me I get why people use leverage to gain wealth, it’s just the risk side of things that scare me. I used leverage to gain my wealth so I would be a hypocrite to say I didn’t use it effectively. It’s just right now I want to eliminate debt and then we’ll see where it goes from there. For my family that’s the path we’re taking.

@Joe Scaparra

No problem, thanks for challenging me and making me work at detailing my posting.   I'm not an expert at writing, but am working at it.  I am better with actions, not words.

@Anthony Wick

If DR is such an idiot with money, then why is he broadcasting from an 18 million dollar facility that he paid for in cash.  The guy must really be an idiot.

@Anthony Wick

Is this what you do on this site, is make fun of people and bash them for making a family decision to sell a cabin we no longer want. Wow, I didn't know you control my life decisions. Wouldn't you think if it was the money I cared about only, I would want to keep this money making machine. I care more about my time with my family and I hate debt. You obviously ddin't know I have a very successful duplex in South Minneapolis that has been a cash cow and the LTV is 40%. I guess that's because I don't have it for real estate investing.

@Joe Splitrock

I know, people seem to have such anger when you bring up his name.

@Joe Scaparra

our post is quite humorous. First your having problems understanding that I bought a lake home that we use for vacations as a family back in 2018 because we wanted to try the cabin life. We also started an Airbnb business because we don't use it very much especially in the winter time. It has done very well and we are good at it. What's really funny is you have made up a story and insulted me by determining in your own mind that we are scared and somehow are concerned and want out. You also think we are scared because of the Covid-19 pandemic. If you had actual facts to work with or did your research, you would know that we no longer want to do the cabin life, aren't concerned about the money the Airbnb was making and are making a life style change to eliminate the mortgage by selling and taking the equity to help pay off our primary. We want to go back to travel trailers for camping, which we have found to love more at this point of our lives. We also had the cabin on the market back in August to November of 2019 and took it off the market when there wasn't any buyers. We had the price to high IMO. Covid 19 wasn't even in the picture. To bad the timing of this outbreak happened exactly as we went under contract for March 15th. We had been making preperations since December to get it show ready. So there goes your ridiculous assumptions that have no fact based evidence. You might want to not make stuff up in the future, your credibility will be shot. Good luck making stories up in the future.

@Joe Scaparra

I'm not overleverage as you call it, my LTV is 65% so that's hardly overleveraged. Properties can be paid off by living well below my means and using other investments and my W2 to pay off properties. Who said you had to use leverage to do that? It's ok if you and I don't agree on this, we all can have our own beliefs. I have tried many strategies and a lot of them have worked out quite well and have built my family wealth, but this is my new path.
