It is getting challenging to get the rent. One of my tenants is not picking up calls or if pickup saying that they don’t have money and making lame excuses and that they are going to talk to their lawyers. I know they get money from a medical claim every month that shouldn’t change with COVID. We can’t do evictions for a long foreseeable future now how are you handling it for tenants who are trying to misuse this situation? This is a single family. I don’t want to go in person at this time. Are there any other legal ways left to still convey the message that tenants can’t take a free ride as they are still liable to pay as under contract ?

@Eric C. Did you have any chance where the rent was reversed by Cozy ? I thought they take 5 days to make sure it can’t be reversed

Hope everyone is staying safe and helping others stay safe too. My challenge right now is when you have stay home orders you don’t want to unnecessarily go out to get rent. I am trying to use cozy now but most of the tenants are saying they don’t have a bank account and they don’t want to pay the fee for using a debit or credit card. How do you handle cash paying tenants ? Can we ask them to deposit the money in the bank ? Any other creative ideas please.

@Satyam Mistry I recently looked into cozy and created account for the tenant and they said it only can link a checking account and not a saving in which they get the pay. Also, fee is pretty steep 2.75% for someone who only have ssi debit card.
