Real estate is local. Someone in another state will have limited knowledge of your market. 

Or, not sure if your library has this, but my library has the Hoopla app where I can digitally borrow ebooks or audiobooks for free. I would use this to start by reading some of the great investing books that are out there.

Sounds good, hope it goes well! As far as I know, it's not public information that is published online, generally. 

I would talk to your attorney about all these questions, including the legality of advertising it publicly. Here in IL you have to have an agent's license in order to wholesale, not sure what it's like by you but they should be able to answer all these for you.

Have you called the city building department and asked why? Tell them you might want to purchase it but want to know more first, they'll probably be able to share more details about it.

Awesome about graduating with no debt, way to go! Have you looked at the house in person? Do you know what is wrong with it and what it would cost to fix, if it makes sense? Sometimes structural and larger issues may not make sense. 

You can borrow money from a private lender (parents, relatives, friends, etc) or pay a hard money lender to finance it, but your numbers all have to be solid.

If money will not be an issue a month from now, why not wait and find another deal then?
