I just purchased and started my 60-hour real estate course. When should I start finding a broker and how should I determine who to go with?

Anyone part of a local meetup in the Birmingham Area that a newbie can come to? Looking to network and start building the relationships it takes to become successful.

@Jerryll Noorden Thanks for your input! How did you set yours up? Did you hire someone? Use one of those Online website builders like Wix? Any recommendations?

Should I make a website? I haven't even started investing yet but will be within the year. Would it be worth it to make a website? Is it worthwhile? How do you currently use the web to market and find deals?

I haven't done any. But the airbnbs online are very cheap so I wouldnt expect a huge return. That being said you probably have done better research on that aspect to know if it would work. I don't know of anything else required besides the license for the county off the top of my head.

I just looked into it and discovered what both of you mentioned about hanging my license. I didnt even realize that was part of the process. This is the type of information I was looking for. Thank you @Tyler Gibson and @Will Barnard! How does one go about finding the broker to connect with? Should I just reach out to a bunch of real estate offices and compare the costs and benefits? I imagine that must be common thing.

Thank you Will! I just learned how to search for forums. I kept going to the forums page and looking for a way to filter. Didnt realize I could just use the search bar that is always present.
I am currently a CPA and do commercial real estate taxes. So if I get my license, could I just do some deals and by my own investments as a schedule C or do I need to hang my license with a broker?

Hey BP, I am thinking of buying myself a real estate license course for Christmas so I can get my license. I am basically sold on it, but is there anything I need to consider? Pros and cons?

Thanks @Jake S. ! I do need to take some time to lay out my goals and vision. I had BRRRR in mind as my preference. Just closed on a personal residence and not sure it will work for House Hacking unfortunately.
