@James Paine

I should probably do full disclosure.  The plan I mentioned is not how I would personally invest if I got a million dollars.  It is more how I would suggest you invest based on what you said about risk earlier.

I get bored easy and like to gamble.  So I invest in all kinds of things.  Assemblage for redevelopment and encouraging gentrification are favorites of mine.  A million helps buy non income producing properties bought for strategic reasons.

I agree with Russle.  It is such an over simplification it simply absurd.

Since I often want to improve entire blocks or neighborhoods to increase value, this simply would not work at all.

Assemblage is apparently something the author has never heard of.

It is sort of like asking a rich person "what do you do?"

I expect them to simply right a check.  In high end properties it is actually much more common than you might think.  I will also say many times the people will not show exactly how much money they have in the bank they will only show some of their assets.

Yes people rent rooms all the time.  In DFW, it is very common with Hispanic owner occupants. I also do sober living that is two people to a room normally.

I know several high end agents in Texas.  Starting out really depends on your social network.  If you have a good base of potential clients then upscale brokerages will want to work with you.

Who are your friends in that price range using now?  Are they looking for another agent?

Looks like there's only a month to go for the redemption period. We'll see how this plays out.

 Do you know if the IRS is advertising the property?  If they are it should be listed on their website.

If they are advertising it and they get a buyer before the redemption period is up they will do it.

@Joe M.

I like the @Shannon K. and @Chad Johnson idea best.  Of course they would have to play up the odd couple part.  Their accents would have to be at least 150% of normal.

Maybe they could do two deals at the same time...  well at least it could be edited that way.  One in Oklahoma one in New York.  That way, every delay would be a potential missed flight back to the other job.

Picture the show HomeTime mixed with Green Acres with a little Property Virgins thrown in.

By the way, people thought it was a married couple on HomeTime and it got freaky when they just replaced the woman.

LOL

It is already pending.  Not surprised.  The price was low.  It also has a lovely swimming pool.

It is a short sale.  I wonder if I should put in a back up.

I could get about $7,500 a month as a sober living house...

or flip it.

It really looks like a steal at that price.  If it was in the DFW I would be all over it.  I would probably have it ready in a month.  Is that still on the market?
