Post: Politely tell a landlord to go away

we have been remodeling a 12 unit multi family with an office space and meeting room. So far the owner/manager has had us move the location of the walls 3 times Mass ordered sheetrock that can't be put up between units because of fire code regulations. Outsourced subcontracting to a number of younger family members who are not license to do construction work in our area. Told us to use the sheetrock that had been put up and torn down as soundproofing around the meeting room. And just generally micromanage every aspect of the remodel which would be annoying but fine if they knew the industry but they don't. we had to tear out all the sheetrock so the city inspector could check the wiring this week. I am trying to find the balance between telling someone they need to trust the people they hire or optioning the fact that it's their money and their choice. Anyone have advice on ways to deal with this. There have been several times when it's been tempting to walk away but we really aren't the kind of crew to leave people high and dry.

I'd think Arvest and Morrill & Jane's would be a little more flexible but Shawnee may just be a tough area to sell that pitch. Check first community bank or Brotherhood bank and trust. I think whoever you talk to you will need quite a sales pitch to get this to happen. Good luck.

I am in the same boat. My best luck has come from talking to several different landlords in the area. Just offering to do any odd jobs they need. And being sure that they know if they hear about property they aren't interested in to be sure to let you know. I actually just bought a house that way. Specifically to be a rental. 30,000 decent neighborhood good roof good foundation. the rest I can fix.

hi everyone I am trying to connect with at least one new person locally on this forum every day but so far the best way if found to do that is search local towns and individually message people who pop up. However most have been inactive for years and I feel like I'm wasting my time and there's a better way to do this. Question 1 is there a better description for how the alerts work in the forums I just haven't found yet? Question 2 when someone responds to my forum post do you only get an email and not alerts? Or is there a way to change that? Question 3 do alerts only go off if your key word is is the title but not the forum post or replies? Question 4 is this even the right forum to be posting this in or should I have just added it to my introduction post? Any answers or advice would be appreciated I'd really like to make the most of this site.

I'm not much of a poster. typically I would stick to the forums and lurk around learning whenever I can just so I don't get wrapped up in the average menial arguments that happened on so many forums, but that would really defeat the entire point of networking this site promotes so much. My question is how do you balance a general lack of knowledge with the fact that there are millions of forum posts with excellent information that you don't want to be rehashing every time a new member comes on?

hi Laura it's good to hear from you. I actually grew up helping my grandfather remodel rentals in the higginsville area while living in Concordia and Marshall. Then moved to Sedalia in 2010 lived in Cole camp for a year doing odd jobs for landlords from Versailles to Warsaw. I've spent a fair amount of time in warrensburg and looked at the large multifamily's that you see on loopnet but beyond that I don't know a whole lot about Warrensburg. But I can tell you Sedalia is a very oil driven manufacturing center between caterpillar, Waterloo, Maxion, and Gardner Denver I would definitely expect housing demands to increase over the next several years because of Trumps policies. hey guys my name is Michael Niemeier. I live in mid Missouri. My primary interest is buy and hold property accumulation. My first goal is to have a passive income of 30k within five years. I work nights in a factory so I have been burning through audio books for about two years now, ten to twelve hours a night. Monday I actually found a podcast from bigger pockets and am about 30 hours into it. I have actually already bought Brandons books and audio book bundles because this is hands down the best information I've ever gotten from a podcast. I cut my teeth on Robert Kiyosaki, the richest man in Babylon, four hour workweek, the millionaire next door, ect. When I'm not at work lately I've been remodelling the house I bought last month specifically planning to rent and trying to find anyone I can learn from and work with. Anyone who is active particularly in missouri I'd love to hear from you.
