Columbus is a great place to invest due to the population and job growth. However, I would definitely keep your options open to other property types as the market here is currently pretty competitive.

Hey Dave, if I was in your shoes I would probably go out of state as RE is just so expensive out there. Whatever you do, make sure to do your due diligence and form a solid team.

That is true. There are some great cash flow markets out there where growth is relatively stagnant.

I would look for referrals from other out of state investors in the markets you’re looking to invest in. Other than that, interview and read reviews of these professionals.

I agree with the above posts and want to emphasize the importance of creating a good team. Interview many professionals (agents, contractors, etc) in the area and talk to investors who own property there. Making sure you can trust the people you will be relying on is so important.
