It would probably be next to impossible for anyone - even a professional home inspector, to find absolutely anything that could possibly wrong, or likely to go wrong ( plus they have enough clauses in their contract to not be liable anyway). But unless you are very experienced at inspecting a house yourself, you are still better off with a hired trained eye to inspect a property.

I evicted my tenants and got my place back today. They owe me some money. I need to send them their deposit statement, and sue them in small claims, but I dont know where they went. Somehow they forgot to leave me a forwarding address - imagine that. What's the easiest way to find them?

I doubt you'd find any rehabber to pay you on the back end. That's their profit. Perhaps you should just charge a fee to sell them the deal.

It's been suggested to me to do the same, but honestly, I dont believe in it. If they don't pay me, I ain't giving those deadbeats a dime. I'll pay the marshall, or filing fees, not my tenants - EVER.Start the eviction process immediately, get them out asap, and if they still owe, sue them in small claims for the difference.

Well here's my opinion. If you were buying this home as an investment property, you should pay no more than 70% of After Repair Value minus repairs. If it's a rental, you'd have to run the numbers to see what price would get you to an acceptable cash flow situation.
But if this is going to be your home, I'd say pay whatever it is personally worth it to you to live in this home. I've dealt with banks a few times though, (once when I bought my house, a few times trying to buy REO's), it's never been anything but a major headache. Good Luck-

I dont need to vent the microwave, I need to vent the stove directly below it. The microwave sucks up the heat and smoke from the stove and sends it up through to the ducting above. Alternatively the microwave could suck up that same air, filter it, and send it back into the room - no ducting needed, which is what I'd like to accomplish.

Well to be more specific, the microwave sits over the stove and serves as the hood for the stove, so it's actually venting the range (electric), not the microwave. It vents through to the duct which is located above the microwave in the cabinet. I know I can turn the microwave into a selfcirculating with a charcoal filter, but I don't know how.
