While we're on the subject of Buffett, anyone have any thoughts on which Irish banks he invested in and lost $? He never said which ones in the Berkshire report but people are speculating that it's AIB (Allied Irish) and Bank of Ireland.

I've been really looking at AIB - it's $1/share now! People who invested in it last year lost a lot of $. Though, I know it would be a gamble. It sounds like they overleveraged themselves giving out too many loans to developers - too much inventory on the market.

The rational part of me is saying not to buy - the fundamentals are not all there. Though, the other part of me is saying buy and get out when it doubles - it's almost like gambling! People are mixed 1/2 and 1/2 - some think AIB will get nationalized while some do not.

I'm just thinking about the cash flow game - opportunities are coming up everywhere. Anyone have any thoughts on Allied Irish (AIB)?

I used to do this - got a few calls. It takes time - most times, the calls I got were people just wanting some more info. I also used to stand outside landlord/tenant court and hand out business cards to the landlords fighting with their tenants outside the courtroom - it was definitely entertaining! I've learned that you just have to stick with a method that works and be persistent. Over time, it will pay off. Hope that helps!

I never had my car wrapped - I used to have a magnetic sign on my car. Though, it took a lot of my time - had people coming up to me in the parking lot or asking me ?s while at a stoplight/stop sign - what it was all about. I don't use it anymore. I've heard of the car wrap and parking it somewhere with high traffic - sounds like a good idea!

Glad to see you on Twitter, Harrison! I've found it pretty beneficial to keep up with news and articles on the sites that I frequent. It's a pain to be getting all these article newsletters in my email box everyday!

Hi SSmith,

You are doing the right things - you've got a great support network here at BP :D

Being successful really comes from within - you have to believe in yourself and what you are doing. It would help to take some to think and analyze your interest in real estate investing and how it can get you to your goals. It's best if your goals are written down so you know where you're going.

Hope that helps!

Hi Tiara,

I went exactly through the same thing when I first started out. Fear is a pretty powerful emotion and can cause us to do things/not do things. I learned that I just had to believe in myself and just go out and start taking action. I already had the knowledge, I just had to apply the knowledge. I also had those "what ifs" running through my head, too. In the end, I learned to just go out and take action applying the knowledge I learned and the rest will follow. I did made mistakes but learned from them. If I didn't take action, I probably would have never gone forward. Hope that helps!
