I bank with Wells Fargo and am getting ready to open my Solo 401K and was thinking of having Wells Fargo for the account but am worried about all the troubles they are having lately. What happens if I have my Solo 401K there and they happen to go under? Will all my funds be lost?

In San Diego there are so many different groups to attend. One (below), that caught my eye was on Private money raising and also Self Directed Retirement Plans. My question is, are some of these meetups just gurus trying to sell something or are they all just trying to help the investor? This one also charges $20 to attend.

  • @JD Martin,

    OK thanks I think I understand but can you still get a conventional loan if this a rental?

    what type of loans are we talking about when we go to refi? Being that these are going to be used for rentals, don't we have to sit on them for a while before we can get a low interest conventional loan?

    So I want to start networking here in SD but there are like 25+ meetup groups. So confused. I want to learn about solo401K strategies and out of state buying to start.

    Any suggestions on what groups to meet up with?

    I am in the Scripps Ranch area BTW.

    Thanks....JD

    @Mejgan Koenig,

    I am getting ready to set up a solo401K with Mark Nolan and his team. Can we talk sometime about setting up my first purchase and how it all works?

    Thanks....JD

    This is interesting. I am getting ready to roll over to a solo401K myself. Love to hear comments from other BP'ers.
