David,

Welcome to BP.

Not your typical high school junior are you?

Best advice at this stage would be to read, read and read some more.

Here, the net, the library, the bookstore etc.

Good Luck,

Jason

MC,

As long as this is a carpet and paint deal than you should be fine.

The larger issue with the money , as John put it, is that if there is anything significantly wrong with this house, like the roof or the windows, this deal could turn sour fast.

As for building codes and having to work with the town supervisors ... this all depends on where you are but unless your adding rooms, building a deck etc ... your should not need a permit. Plumbing and electric should always be done to code. Period.

There is a thread on here related to deal worksheets. I'll try to find it and post a link. It will help you put everything down on paper to see if the deal works or not and it helps you cover things you might miss otherwise.

Good Luck,

Jason

Kenneth,

Your number of posts is listed under your user name on the left hand side of the frame on all of your posts.

Easiest way to get to 10+ posts is in the new member forum. Introduce yourself to everyone. Look for other members local to you or other areas that you are familiar with. Look for topics that interest you and ask a question or look for topics that you have some knowledge of and post a substantive comment.

Good Luck,

Jason

Welcome to BP.

Tell us a little more about yourself. What type of REI are you interested in?

Update your profile so that others on the board can see where you are at. We have people from all over the world on here and if they are local to you they may be able to provide more accurate advice.

Good Luck,

Jason

r2,

I see a lot of people on this site asking 'how' to wholesale or 'how' to get started. That was a great step by step layout.

Good Luck,

Jason
