That is a good idea.
How does the timing on this work? For me, I received the value notice on 5/3/2017. I filed a protest. The county gave me an offer on 5/9/2017 which I rejected. Now, I have a hearing on 6/5/2017. That seems too short a time for them to say it did not sell.
Or, are you saying to leave it listed and not have it sell until the 2018 values come out and then protest the 2017 and 2018 values?
Obviously, this works better on an investment property than a personal residence since I would have scramble to buy a house or move to an apartment if it sells.

In my case, the raised it WAY above market value. I am going to fight them, they can't make it higher than it is already!

My personal house in Collin County went up by 25% and it is $30k above an appriasal I got done in April by a certified appraiser. I submitted the appraisal to the county and the offered to drop the value by only $4k! Needless to say, I rejected their offer.
The appraisal districts are definitely off their rockers.

Congratulations on getting your license!
Most of Dallas is pricey right now. Take the time to look for a good deal.
Will the VA allow you to buy a MFH?
Good luck on your investing career!

You are in Collin County so you would need to be a member of CCAR. I am also a member. My dues were just about $1k last year.

The market is pretty insane right now. It has to come back to reality soon.

They can be a good source if they offer properties at a good price. Lately, many of them have been asking for prices that don't allow the investor to make a return.
Do your homework and don't use the wholesaler's numbers to see they are offering you a good deal.

I never asked that since I signed up for online to begin with. I am pretty sure they will not give you trouble. They are very helpful and easy to work with.

I bought the 9-course program with exam prep.
I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.
