Post: Is working/shadowing contractors a good/bad idea?

I wanted to jump in and see if I can just start learning. Not sure if its possible for me to shadow or work a little with contractors part time? I am guessing that there may be training involved, and I am already working Mon-Thur. So my guess is this won't work, but just curious if anyone out there has tried anything like this to learn a little about repair costs, materials, what goes on behind the scenes with contractors, how to fix things etc... TIA

@Brenden Mitchum Ok Thanks, I have never heard of that happening just wanted to see if it was a thing. I know with certain self directed 401k's you can use that...
Thank you for the info!

I know you can leverage some 401k's for RE. Just wondering if you can leverage stocks and bonds?

Thank you @Henry Lee. I was thinking four-plex, or 5+. But hadn't done much research into the area. Thank you for the insight, and I will consider the Airbnb idea.

Hey Henry,
Just starting out looking into where I would like to get my first property. I noticed your from St George. This was a place I was considering, but haven't started really digging into the market there. What are your thoughts? I heard it may be highly priced there.
Thanks

Hey, first time posting here on BP. Just moved to the Vegas area and have been saving up for a multi-family property. Only read 8 books so far on RE and I don't know where to start researching what the macro-economic scene looks like here. Those that are in the game, is Vegas a good area? Why? Why not?
TIA
