Post: Cashinig in EE Savings Bonds

My fiance has a number of EE series savings bonds. She is looking into cashing them in to invest them in something else. Possibly real estate.
She has asked me for advice, but I'm not familiar with savings bonds. Can someone explain to the EE savings bonds? Should she cash them in? What are the taxes going to be on cashing them in? Can she avoid the taxes? Possibly by investing them else where?
Thanks!

I'm looking for a portfolio lender in the New Orleans area. Does anyone know any good portfolio lenders? I'd also be interested in portfolio lenders outside NOLA as long as they are not too far. I'm looking to contact a couple of them this week to start a relationship. Any help would be awesome. Thanks.

@Grant Hamlin take a break from school. You don't have to finish in 4 years. Explore working in real estate and investing in real estate. You can always go back to school, never go back to school, or continue working while completing your degree online or part time.
These days a college degree is only worth it if it leads to a good job right out of college. Engineering and accounting are good examples in my area. Some of my closest friends make twice as much as me at their current jobs but can't afford more expensive investments because of the large amount of student debt they accumulated. Their debt to income ratio is out of control.
College isn't what it used to be. The world is a lot smaller. You can find higher education through the internet, social networks like biggerppockets, apps, etc. Don't let the idea of getting a college degree hold you back. Go make some money, then be that business expert guest speaker at your university's business 101 class.

What is everyone using to track and manage leads?
Google doc, Excel, Numbers?
What are some good websites that help manage leads?

Welcome @Jacquelyn Tucker ! Biggerpockets is a great place to get started in working towards financial freedom. Check out the podcast and the youtube channel. I have found them most useful. Also, I would highly recommend Scott Trench's book Set for Life. I'm from BR. Nice to see more people from LA on the forums.
