I see stand-alone basement toilets in a lot of the older housing stock here in Cincinnati. Given that most of that stock only has 1 bathroom, a basement toilet was one way for a larger family to cope!

Thanks for the update, Rob. I had to pull the trigger last week and went ahead and put in a Toto, as I was able to get a good deal on it.
I'm glad there's a forum for this. For some reason, my wife isn't particularly impressed when I describe the toilet's virtues....

That's one possible correlation; however, it's rarely that simple. Most large cities have seen a substantial drop in crime, even those (such as D.C.) without concealed carry permits. There are lots of other factors at play. For instance, this article posits a link between lead and crime.
Mass incarceration may also lead to unforeseen consequences. For instance, would you rent to someone who has a felony? Growing a single pot plant is a federal felony, for instance. How about hiring someone with a misdemeanor? Once someone has gone into the criminal justice system it becomes considerably more difficult for them to re-enter society.
This isn't to say society should be "soft on crime." It's to say that iron-fisted, black and white responses to crime may end up with unintended consequences.

What does your contract with the staging company say about this sort of thing? I'd think they'd have a policy for this sort of thing, as it must happen now and then.

What does your lease say about the refrigerator or appliances? If there's no language in there to the contrary, the tenants have a reasonable expectation that if the ice maker breaks that it'll be fixed.
I've seen some leases where certain appliances (say, a washer and dryer) are supplied by the landlord as a convenience, but won't be repaired if they break. How well that stands up in court, I don't know.
Personally, no ice makers for me. One more thing to leak all over the kitchen floor.
Nothing stated should be construed as legal advice.

Not yet. I've had a lot on my plate lately. One of the toilets in my own house has been giving me grief. My five year old likes to use half a roll of toilet paper when she drops a deuce. I think I will replace that with a Viper and see if I like it before I start changing them out. My buddy put one in a rental and says it is great.
Hey @Rob K. , any luck getting that Gerber in yet? I'm at the point of deciding whether or not to go Toto or Gerber on the latest replacement.

Hahaha...
Was thinking the same thing when I saw 70. I begrudgingly turned it up to 68 in my own house the other day when my 2 year old woke up in the middle of the night saying her feet were cold :)

I know what you mean. The kids are currently living in the lap of luxury during this cold snap, as the thermostat is downstairs, and all that expensive heat come right up to the bedrooms! :)

I'm interested in this as well. I haven't had one go missing yet, but having a source would be nice. On the plus side, they generally clean up very well.
Here's one possible idea, though I haven't used them (and they're not especially cheap, either):
These are $36: https://www.vintagehardware.com/proddetail.php?prod=28249
If you have any Habitat ReSale stores, flea markets, or similar sorts of salvaged material stores, you may have luck finding them at an affordable price (and no shipping.)
